Join us on our Ride Leadership level 1 course at Dalby Forest and take this  opportunity to gain leadership skills, a qualification and enhance your cycling knowledge.
 
The course focuses on developing route planning, group management, and effective communication skills to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
 
Participants will also learn about risk assessment and emergency procedures to handle any unexpected incidents that may arise during rides.
 
Upon completion, participants will receive a Level 1 Ride Leadership Award from British Cycling, demonstrating their competence and confidence in leading recreational cycling groups in urban/rural environments. This course is ideal for cycling enthusiasts looking to share their passion and knowledge with others while promoting safe and enjoyable cycling experiences.
 
Course content:
 
The course blends online learning with an assessed one-day course.   Learners receive
30 days access to British Cycling Learning, with  4 hours of directed learning
One day of expert tuition by a British Cycling tutor including practical assessment
 
For insurance purposes all participants are advised to have British Cycling membrship - Ride or Race (silver or gold).
 
The course takes place on cycle paths and roads around Pickering expect to ride a max of 25 miles for the whole day.  A cafe stop is taken for lunch in the town.  Ebikes are allowed on the course.
